Precast Concrete and Reinforced Concrete U-Channel Elements (Linear Grate Base) Group

Detailed information about Precast Concrete and Reinforced Concrete U-Channel Elements (Longitudinal Under-Grating) Group is given in the lower part of this page.

About the Precast Concrete and Reinforced Concrete U-Channel Elements (Longitudinal Under-Grating) Group

Precast concrete and reinforced concrete U-channel elements are drainage elements used for collecting, directing and discharging surface water on urban roads, car parks, site pavements and industrial areas. The U-section channel geometry carries water along the line in a controlled manner, helping to reduce the risk of water accumulation and ponding on the surface.

A U-channel line is formed by laying the elements one after another on a prepared bedding layer. Depending on the project requirements, the channel can be left open at the top, covered with a longitudinal grating to form a linear drainage line, or given a closed arrangement with concrete and reinforced concrete cover options. With its different cross-section and type options, the product group offers solutions that can be used both in on-site linear drainage applications and in open channel lines where higher flow rates are managed.

In U-channel applications that are open at the top or fitted with a grating that allows water to enter, surface water can be collected along the line. When a closed arrangement is formed with concrete or reinforced concrete covers, the water intake points are designed separately. Access for inspection and cleaning is arranged according to the selected top closure and the project details.

Typical Areas of Use

  • Linear drainage lines along the edges of roads and pavements
  • Drainage systems for open and covered car parks
  • Surface water drainage in industrial facility grounds and loading areas
  • Surface water routing in sports grounds, parks and landscaping works
  • High-flow surface water discharge in large-section open channel lines

Key Advantages

  • Linear drainage: In open or grated applications, collects surface water along the line and directs it to the discharge line.
  • Precast production: Provides standard and repeatable quality through factory-controlled production.
  • Fast installation: Reduces the need for in-situ formwork and casting; shortens installation time.
  • Modular line layout: Forms a continuous channel line through successive placement; adapts to project requirements with different cross-section types.
  • Top closure flexibility: Can be installed as an open-top channel; a linear drainage solution can be created with a longitudinal grating, or a closed channel arrangement can be formed with concrete and reinforced concrete covers.
