About
BİR BE SAN
Producing Solutions in Building Materials Since 1975
BİR BE SAN began producing precast concrete and reinforced concrete products in the field of building materials in 1975 under the trade name “Birlik Ticaret”. Having expanded its activities, the company adopted a corporate structure in 1994 and took the trade name “BİRBESAN Yapı Malzemeleri İnşaat Taahhüt Ticaret Limited Şirketi”; today it continues its production under the BİR BE SAN and BBS brands.
With more than half a century of field experience, BİR BE SAN provides solutions for the building material needs of projects carried out by public institutions, local authorities and the private sector, with precast concrete and reinforced concrete products, chiefly the core components of infrastructure systems and landscaping products.
Areas of Activity
The products are used in a wide variety of construction and infrastructure works. The main areas of activity are as follows:
- Water and Wastewater Infrastructure: Sewer, storm water and drainage lines, together with the inspection manholes, property connections and fittings on these lines.
- Pipe Production for Trenchless Crossings: Production of pipes used in microtunnelling and pipe jacking applications under highways, railways and stream beds.
- Telecommunications Infrastructure: Manhole and jointing chamber structures used in telecom and fibre optic networks.
- Road Safety: Concrete barrier lines used on highways, dual carriageways, bridges and viaducts.
- Landscaping and Surface Works: Paving, kerb and surface drainage elements for pedestrian paths, squares, car parks and landscaped areas.
- Urban Waste Management: Underground waste container systems used in urban areas.
- Project-Specific Production: Non-standard products made to suit the needs of the project, for construction and infrastructure works outside these areas.
Production Infrastructure
The production infrastructure is built on the following capabilities:
- Mould Infrastructure: Moulds are in place for all product groups; for sizes outside the standard range, production can be carried out with project-specific moulds.
- Controlled Production Conditions: The concrete mix, reinforcement placement and production processes are carried out under factory conditions, so that dimensions and strength values remain repeatable from one production batch to the next.
- Stock and Production Programme: Common sizes are kept in stock; for project-specific products, the production programme is drawn up according to the order in which the products will be used on site.
- Dispatch Organisation: Dispatch of the products to the construction site is organised on request. Customers may request a quote that includes transport, or collect the products from the factory with their own vehicles.
Production Flow
From the preparation of raw materials to dispatch, the production process generally consists of the following stages.
- Raw Material Preparation: Cement, aggregate (sand and crushed stone), water and the necessary admixtures are prepared and batched according to the specified mix proportions.
- Concrete Production: The mix is prepared at the batching plant with a composition that meets the project requirements.
- Reinforcement Preparation: For reinforced concrete products, the reinforcement is prepared in the arrangement required by the project and placed in the mould.
- Moulding: Production generally uses dry-consistency concrete. The mix is transferred into the steel mould by a moving bucket system and shaped by vibration and compaction. Because products made with dry-consistency concrete are removed from the mould immediately, the same mould can be used again within the same day.
- Curing: The products are steam-cured under controlled temperature and humidity, which supports the strength development of the concrete.
- Inspection: In the plant’s in-house laboratory, the products undergo the quality control tests that each product requires.
- Storage: The products are taken to the stockyard.
- Loading: The products are loaded onto vehicles by forklift and dispatched.
Corporate Approach
